Fire at 298 Old Brompton Road, London SW5, 25 February 1956. A mother is reunited with her son after a dramatic rescue by Sub Officers Kirby and Temple under dangerous conditions. The child had been left in his cot in the front room before the fire started.

Special service in action at a building site on the premises of the Carlton Club in Pall Mall, Central London, 12 August 1955. Brigade personnel are attending an injured workman who has been placed on a stretcher by ambulance personnel. They are applying a chair knot to the stretcher, and will go on to further secure the man by means of belts before he is lifted off the site.

Rescue following V2 rocket attack, Manor Park, London, WW2

Rescue of a woman following a V2 rocket attack in Manor Park. Although many rescues took place, hundreds of Londoners died in these attacks, launched in the latter stages of WW2. This woman was fully conscious but buried up to her neck in debris. She survived, having received only minor injuries.
