Measuring 45 feet in length, 13.5 inch beam and with a 3.5 foot draft, she had a top speed of 17 knots. This striking photograph captures the GLC-LFB Fire Boat - Fire Hawk as it enters service with the London Fire Brigade in February 1976. Built by Watercraft of Shoreham at a cost of £60,000, the Fire Hawk measured 45 feet in length, 13.5 inches in beam, and had a draft of 3.5 feet. Capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, this firefighting vessel was a valuable addition to the London Fire Brigade's fleet. Equipped with a single fixed monitor forward, the Fire Hawk's twin portable pumps provided an impressive pumping capacity of 1200 gpm (5400 litres per minute).
