The GLC-LFB was created on 1 April 1965. A series of photos was commissioned of each type of fire engine, either within or absorbed into the enlarged London Fire Brigade. The Brigade was divided into three Command areas, Northern, Eastern and Southern, each with a Command Headquarters which had a Command major control unit stationed at it. The GLC-LFB was established on 1 April 1965, following the merger of various fire services in and around London. The Brigade was divided into three Command areas - Northern, Eastern, and Southern - each with a Command Headquarters and a Major Control Unit stationed at it.
