Step back in time with this photograph of High Street, Highgate Village in North London, circa 1910s. The quaint and bustling street is lined with a variety of shops, each with their unique signs and wares on display. The sunblinds hanging above the shops add a touch of character and charm to the scene. In the foreground, a tram glides smoothly along the tramlines, its progress interrupted only by the occasional horse-drawn cart or pedestrian crossing the road. The pavement is filled with people, some deep in conversation, others engrossed in their shopping. The shops themselves offer a fascinating glimpse into the past. A tobacco shop with a large gold "Tobacco" sign and a "Navy Cut" advertisement attracts customers, while a "Wills" sign suggests the presence of a cigarettes shop nearby.
