EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures the historic Pakenham Arms pub, located in the vibrant and bustling area of Kings Cross in London. The image showcases the corner view of this iconic public house, with its distinctive red brick facade and ornate architectural details. The Pakenham Arms, a cherished local institution, has a rich history that spans many decades. As of July 2018, the pub was owned by the Convivial Pub Company, but it closed unexpectedly in 2013. It was then reopened under the Old Angel Pub Company, only to close again in summer 2014, allegedly to install a staircase for access to the flats above. As of September 2017, the pub was up for rent, leaving the future uncertain for this beloved Kings Cross establishment. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder of the ever-changing landscape of London and the importance of preserving its historical pubs and watering holes.
