This evocative photograph captures the facade of the historic Pineapple Pub, located in the heart of Southwark, London. Established in the early 20th century, the public house, fondly known as a "boozer" or "bar," has long been a beloved institution in the community. The image presents a classic, unadorned pub front, with its distinctive name sign, "Pineapple PH," proudly displayed above the door. The Pineapple Pub, which can be found at SE1 6SB, has a rich history that dates back to at least 1934, as evidenced by the trading record detailed on the reverse side of this print (available upon request). Tragically, the pub was forced to close its doors in 1959, and was subsequently demolished the following year. Despite its demise, the Pineapple Pub continues to hold a special place in the memories of those who frequented it and in the history of Southwark. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder of a bygone era, when local pubs were the heart and soul of the community.
