LCC-LFB firefighters with old hose cart
Four LCC-LFB firefighters with a 60-year old hose cart, 17 August 1938. The cart was housed in the HQ in Cherry Garden Street. It still had its uses, carrying necessary equipment for firefighting and rescue work, including 300 feet of hose, axes, hand extinguishers and two hook ladders

LCC-LFB motorised Hatfield type fire engine
A motorised Hatfield-type fire engine. The London Fire Brigade was introducing motorised fire engines and the last horse-drawn appliance (a turntable ladder) would be withdrawn in 1921. The adoption of motorised fire engines would lead to the closure of many fire stations which had used horse-drawn engines
