King, the football-playing stallion
King the football-playing stallion was bought by Essex farmer Bill Foyle from a Midlands slaughter market in 1963 for 35. Bill soon discovered that the seven-year-old enjoyed a game of football and ended up playing with him every Saturday in the season. After the game the two would go together for a post-match drink in the local pub. Date: 1964
